Immigration - Visa Support

A) Visas Application at Portuguese Consulate in Several Countries

Assistance for preparing documents to be submitted to the Consulate of Portugal or a third-party company wherein applications for residence visas, Schengen visas, and temporary visas are processed. 

    01) Residence Visa

    Residence visas are applied for the applicants whose stay in Portugal exceeds one
    year. If you intend to go to Portugal to work for a period
longer than 9 months, the
    residence visa needs to be applied for.

   02) Schengen Visa

   Under current legislation, Brazilian citizens do not need a visa for tourism purposes
   in P
ortugal for a period of 90 days; the visa is extendable for up to 180 days if
   approved by the
SEF/AIMA. It is necessary to check the nationalities exempt from
   the SCHENGEN visa (tourism). If your country of
nationality is not on the list, you
   MUST apply for and collect your a visa in advance.

   03) Temporary Visa

   As a general rule, temporary stay visas are intended for the individuals whose stay in
   Portugal for activities lasts more than 13 months.

04) Citizen-Related Issues: Central Registerations (Portuguese Nationality)

 

      A) Attribution of nationality

  • To children of a Portuguese mother or Portuguese father, born abroad;

  • To the ones born abroad with at least one ascendant of Portuguese nationality in the 2nd degree in the straight line who has not lost that nationality, if they declare that they want to be Portuguese, they need to have effective ties to the national community;

  • To the ones born in Portuguese territory, children of foreigners, if at the date of birth the mother or father had legally resided here for at least five years, and provided that none of them were in the service of the respective State;

  • To those born in Portuguese territory, who prove that they do not have any nationality.

 

     B) Acquisition of nationality

  • ​Minor or incapacitated foreigners, whose mother or father acquired Portuguese nationality after their birth,

  • A foreigner married for more than three years to a Portuguese national or living in a de facto union for more than three years with a Portuguese national,

  • The foreigner who, having been Portuguese, lost his nationality as a minor or incapacitated, as a result of a declaration by the person representing him,

  • A foreigner fully adopted by a Portuguese national, after the date of entry into force of Nationality Law no. 37/81, of 3 Oct, acquires Portuguese nationality by effect of the law.

  • To foreigners who are adults or emancipated under Portuguese law, who have legally resided in Portuguese territory for at least six years.

  • To minors, under Portuguese law, born in Portuguese territory, children of foreigners

  • To individuals who have had Portuguese nationality and who, having lost it, have never acquired another nationality.

  • To individuals born in Portuguese territory, children of foreigners, who have habitually stayed here for the 10 years immediately preceding the request,

  • To individuals who, not being stateless, have had Portuguese nationality, to those who are considered descendants of Portuguese, to members of communities of Portuguese descent and to foreigners who have provided or are called upon to provide relevant services to the Portuguese State or the national community.

  • To descendants of Portuguese Sephardic Jews, through demonstration of the tradition of belonging to a Sephardic community of Portuguese origin, based on proven objective requirements for connection to Portugal, namely surnames, family language, direct or collateral descent.

  • To the foreigner fully adopted by a Portuguese national, by final and unappealable decision before the entry into force of the Nationality Law No. 37/81, of 3 October,

  • To the woman who lost her Portuguese nationality because she acquired a foreign nationality, based on marriage with a foreigner.

  • To anyone who, having had Portuguese nationality, lost it due to voluntarily acquiring a foreign nationality.
